About Me
I was born in Northampton in 1968 where I spent most of my life and am an engineer by trade. Seven years ago my family and I moved to Cornwall for a very different lifestyle.
I have always enjoyed the outdoors and have had a lifelong love of animals. Over the years I have spent a lot of time mountaineering, climbing and hill walking in the Lake District, Peak District, Scotland and North Wales. Since moving to Cornwall and having children, the extreme sports gave way to filming wildlife. Cornwall to us, has everything - the hills and moors, great sandy beaches and a fantastic array of wild habitats.
My first forays into film were through stop motion animation, an artform I still enjoy and occasionally run workshops for young people. I have also worked on documentaries and dramas, but my real passion is for the wild - from panoramic landscapes to difficult to find wild animals - this is where my heart is.
I find the whole experience of filming wildlife totally absorbing and exciting. It is the constant challenge that is always there and you can never know everything there is to know about the natural world.
I have recently worked as a specialist cameraman for the BBC on several occasions, had films broadcast on Sky and stills published in national and local publications.
My professional goal in life remains the same as when I first started out: to earn a small living out of something I love doing and am passionate about - this is now a reality and so the journey continues.....

Conservation & Volunteering
Being a keen naturalist I am obviously interested in helping to conserve the wild treasures of Britain. I'm an active Trustee and fundraiser for a community based nature charity called the 'Friends of Kilminorth Woods'. The actual wood is a designated 'Local Nature Reserve' and is an ancient woodland dating back to 1600AD.
The charity has set objectives that include education, protection, access, conservation and to improve the woods with minimal intervention
I also run a small website for the 'Oxford Craniofacial Unit' which is a specialist unit dedicated to the treatment and research of craniofacial conditions within the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. The website was first set up in 1999 as a resource to provide accurate information on the various issues surrounding craniofacial conditions - the site continues with this goal firmly in mind.

Over the years I have also been involved in helping young people, I worked in a secondary school for three and a half years, was a scout leader for five years and have also helped community arts projects.
It's rewarding to give something back and to help make a difference - however small - everyone should do it.
